Welcome.
Finding support can be challenging, whether you are looking for treatment for the first time, seeking a change, or returning to psychotherapy treatment after a long hiatus. I’m glad you are here. I offer specialized psychotherapy for people struggling with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, post-traumatic stress, and related symptoms.
Mission and Values
To provide compassionate, evidence-based, and whole-hearted care that honors who you are, where you have been, and helps you head in the direction that matters to you.
Transparency & Authenticity. While having treatment that fits the concerns you are struggling with is immensely important, the relationship with the provider is also essential for treatment to be successful. It’s important to me that you get to be informed about your care, from diagnosis to alternative treatment options to therapist credentials.
Creativity & Workability. Let’s do what works and leave the rest. Sometimes we believe that if we can just ‘crack the code,’ we can solve our problems. Here we focus on building new ways of experiencing and let go of treating you like a math problem to be solved.
Compassion. Being kind is not the same thing as being nice. I strive to be kind, honoring your history while gently challenging what no longer serves you. This means simultaneously holding space for how you came to cope as you do and helping you shift in the direction of living the life you want.
Curiosity & Humility. While I am the expert in the types of psychological services I am trained in, you are the expert in you. I have often said that I learn at least as much from my clients as they do from therapy.
Anti-Oppressive Practice Policy
I strive to recognize the dignity and worth of all humans and their right to safe, respectful and equitable treatment. This requires actively identifying and disrupting oppression and discrimination wherever it may be found in clinical practice, organizational policies and community engagement. I commit to sharing power, valuing mutual respect, acknowledging positionality within society, and conscious, lifelong learning.
